black mountain and asheville.

I took a fun day trip with my parents up to Black Mountain and Asheville. I just love spending time with my parents and this little day trip was just perfect for that. They love Black Mountain (as do I!), they even own land there and maybe something else soon to come!!! The pictures of the mountainous landscapes were all taken around my parents land. I just can't wait for them to have a house up there. It's just so peaceful and beautiful and such a contrast from Thailand. Just fresh air, cool breezes, and my sweet parents. Oh goodness and now I'm getting all teary eyed because I'm so far away from them again. Shoot 3 weeks is not enough time to spend with loved ones when you haven't seen them for a whole year and then all of a sudden have to say goodbye to them again.

I can't believe I'm back in Thailand, after the craziest/most relaxing/sweetest three weeks I've had in a long time. I was so ready to see Stephan again, but not ready for Thailand again. I was just loving the comfort of home, even though part of it was spent in the hospital and visiting lots of doctors and worrying about my Thai visa that luckily showed up three days before I was to leave. Now I'm back in the land of sweaty--it's so hot here.

  1. sarah, these photos are just beautiful! i have been waiting to take a little day trip to asheville for awhile. just being on the other side of the mountain, these photos scream out "home" to me. glad you made it back safely and hope the homesick-ness fades. i know how it can sometimes make moments seem crippling.
