Wat Umong

Wat Umong is a 700 year old Buddhist temple here in Chiang Mai. These first three pictures are from a temple we found on our way to Wat Umong, but shoot I can't remember the name.

This temple is probably my favorite temple in Thailand. It's unique compared to most temples that are elaborately decorated in gold and bright colors.

At Wat Umong you can find stone structures, ancient tunnels, and old Buddha sculptures around the wooded grounds.

The entire atmosphere of this temple is so peaceful. There is even a pond with benches and a place to feed the fish and birds.

I loved how hidden the temple is and how it's not a very popular destination for tourists. It's a wonderful place to just wander around for hours. If you ever find yourself in Chiang Mai, you must go to this temple!
