Hong Kong// The Skyline

For Christmas and New Years, Stephan and I went to Hong Kong. We were anticipating the trip for a very long time. In fact we bought our tickets about 6 months in advanced. For serious procrastinators when it comes to buying plane tickets, this was impressive! We got a seriously amazing deal on tickets and the best part about the trip was that we would get to go with two of our best friends that we have made here in Chiang Mai. Our friend's family lives in Hong Kong, which meant we would have a free place to stay. This was such a blessing because Hong Kong is so expensive and we would have never been able to afford it any other way. Christmas in Thailand was so sad and depressing our first year here, but if I was going to have to be away from my family again this year, this was the best way to get to spend it. It was so interesting and fun getting to spend Christmas with another family and getting to learn about their traditions. It was such a special Christmas and special trip that I will never forget.
Hong Kong is unbelievable. I took over 500 pictures! I loved how international the city is, but I also loved all the Chinese culture that you can find around every corner. I wanted to first share images of the skyline in Hong Kong. I have never seen so many high rises. It was so impressive. We had several opportunities to view the skyline. First, we went to the 76th floor of a building for lunch one of our first days where we could walk outside and see all of Hong Kong. We also went to the Peak which was the top of a mountain near the city where there were views for days. It was beautiful!
