waterfall adventure.

We ended up running into Abdul again at the banana pancake place. He set us up with his tuk tuk driver friend again to take us on another adventure for the day. Funny thing is, I’m pretty sure he was just trying to make money for his friend. Anyways, the drive was absolutely beautiful up to the waterfall. We definitely got to enjoy the drive because we were probably going 30 mph slower than everyone else. The waterfall was full of Thais enjoying their afternoon with picnics and swimming fully clothed in the water. There were signs that said “no soap”. I bet people try to bathe in the water because it is probably cleaner than the water that comes out of the showers. We went swimming at the “ground” level of the waterfall and it was so neat. The Thais snapped pictures with us, because if you are white, you are automatically a celebrity in this country. We then began the “hike” up the waterfall. This was not an ordinary hike up a mountain, it was more like rock climbing in flip flops. But the climb was so worth it. The view was breathtaking in front of us and behind us. We were so high up, but the waterfall just kept going up behind us. We were tempted to continue the hike up, but we were worried we might not make it back down the safe way, so we went back down to find Abdul and our tuk tuk driver friend.
In the meantime, we were supposed to be getting relocated to our provence, but the agency continued to put it off. So we just continued have day adventures around Hat Yai and Songkhla (Hat Yai’s provence).
